G. Douglas Stauffer (Doug)
President, Funeral Director, CFSP
Doug, President of Stauffer Funeral Homes, has been a Maryland State Licensed Funeral Director since 1973 and an Insurance Agent since 1994. As a graduate of Walkersville High School, Doug went on to receive higher education at institutions such as Frederick Community College (Frederick, MD), and Tennessee Tech University where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree. He attended graduate school at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in Mortuary Science at John A. Gupton College in Nashville. He maintains active membership in various organizations, including the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Order of the Golden Rule, Independent Selected Morticians, Cremation Association of North America, and The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practitioners. Doug is also a long-time Board Member of Hospice of Frederick County, and is on the Board of Directors for Mt. Olivet Cemetery. His hobbies include sports and listening to music of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.

Marianne Stauffer
Funeral Director, CFSP
Marianne has been part of Stauffer Funeral Homes since 1978. A graduate of Catonsville Community College of Mortuary Science, she’s been a licensed funeral director in the State of Maryland since 1985. Marianne has obtained a variety of memberships such as the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practitioners and First Baptist Church in Frederick, MD. She is a past board member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, and has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President. She is also a past-member of Professional Advisory Group of Hospice (Frederick County), and Thurmont Historical Society.

George D. Stauffer II
Assistant Manager, Funeral Director
George, Assistant Manager for Stauffer Funeral Homes, also manages Stauffer Monument Company and Frederick Crematory Inc. He is licensed as both Funeral Director and Crematory Operator. George graduated from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. He is originally from Athens, TN and now lives in Jefferson, MD with his wife, Courtney and their son Clay. In his spare time, he enjoys waterfowl hunting and the great outdoors. He is also a member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Good Samaritan's and the Jefferson Ruritan Club.

Courtney M. Stauffer
Funeral Director
Courtney has been with Stauffer Funeral Homes since 2001. She is a Licensed Funeral Director, and holds her insurance license. She also assists her husband with the monument business. She graduated from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. Originally from Benton, Kentucky, she now lives in Jefferson, Maryland with her husband, George D. Stauffer II and their son Clay. She is also a member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Good Samaritans. When not working Courtney enjoys hanging out with her son, shopping, and traveling to Kentucky to visit family.

Lanny R. Savage
General Manager, Funeral Director
Lanny is the General Manager for Stauffer Funeral Homes as well as a Licensed Funeral Director. He is a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in Pittsburgh, PA and has been in the funeral industry for over 30 years. Lanny is a member of CANA, and Thurmont Lions Club, as well as Thurmont United Methodist Church. He has a wife, Judy A. Savage, and a son, Gregory S. Savage.

Wilbur L. Buehrer (Bill)
Pre-need Manager
Bill is the pre-need manager for Stauffer Funeral Homes. He is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Ohio, South Carolina and Maryland, and has worked in the funeral profession for 37 years. He attended the University of Toledo where he received his degree in marketing, and then went on to attend the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

Raymond Peterson
Funeral Director
Raymond Peterson has been a Licensed Funeral Director and embalmer since 1977. He attended Holy Rosary Grade School and Mount Saint Joseph High School, and majored in Mortuary Science at Catonsville Community College. Raymond is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Brute 1860, Seton Chapter of Grand Knights, Fourth Degree Knights, and Bishop McNamara #384 Assembly. He has a wife, Martha Peterson and four children, Justin, Christopher, Mary, and Helen.

Funeral Director
D.J. has been a Funeral Director for Stauffer Funeral Home since 1999 and has worked as a Licensed Funeral Director in Maryland for Twenty-Eight years. After receiving his high school education at South Carroll High School, he majored in Mortuary Science at Catonsville Community College in 1979. He received his funeral director's license in 1980 and went on to receive his life insurance license in 1996. D.J. is a member of Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce, and former-member of Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department, and Damascus Volunteer Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT. He has a wife, Linda and a stepdaughter, Monica.

Roger is a Licensed Funeral Director for Stauffer Funeral Homes, and has been in the funeral profession for twenty-three years. He is a graduate of Catonsville Community College and is involved with Thurmont Little League. Roger has a wife, Tonyia and a son, Daniel.

Bradley J. Smetzer
Funeral Director
Bradley, a Licensed Funeral Director for Stauffer Funeral Homes, joined the company in 2004. He is a graduate of Middletown High School and Catonsville Community College. He has a wife, Suzy Smetzer, and two children, Abigail and Jace. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in church activities.

Camille Cline
Funeral Director
For over nine years, Camille has worked for Stauffer Funeral Home as Prearrangement Counselor, Funeral Director, and Monument Director. She has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1969 and a Licensed Insurance Agent since 1995. She is a Graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis, Indiana. Camille is an active Member of several organizations, including Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, Frederick County (MD) Historical Society, Thurmont (MD) Historical Society, Adams County (PA) Historical Society, and Gettysburg (PA) Civil War Round Table. She is the President and Founder of Living History Group “Civilians of Gettysburg 1861-1865,” and Past President of Southern Maryland Funeral Directors Association. She lives in Fairfield, Pennsylvania with her husband, Robert E. Cline, who is also a Funeral Director.

Colleen Gillen
Extended Services Coordinator
Colleen Gillen works as the Extended Services Coordinator for Stauffer Funeral Home. She has been in the funeral profession for six years. She was a Dean’s List student at Indiana University and received an Associates Degree in Business. She later attended Midland College and became a Licensed Funeral Director in South Carolina.
