It was sad news to hear of the passing of Charlie Byrd. He was such a kind friend, and offered assistance in our move to the Myersville area. He was such a faithful worker at the Review & Herald, and we carpooled to work at the Takoma Park location. Our prayers are with Evelyn and son Donald and other family members in this time of sorrow.

Dear Evelyn and Donny,

My heart was saddened to learn of Charlie's passing. He was such a sweet gentle soul, and always had a joke to make you smile. I will always have fond memories of him on the farm--it seems like yesterday. I'm so sorry for your loss, and will keep you in my prayers. Though I may be hundreds of miles away, I'm sending you big hugs and will be there in spirit when you have his celebration of life next week.

Much love,

Vida (Okuno) Welch

Dear Evelyn,

I'm so sorry to hear that Charlie passed away. He was a wonderful Christian man, with a heart of gold. I know he will be missed by many, many people, but the hole in your heart will be the biggest. May God strengthen you during your time of sorrow. Know that I am lifting you up in prayer, that God will comfort you.

With love and hugs,
