Miss Kristina Amber Long, 19, of Walkersville died on Saturday April 29, 2006 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a lifelong and courageous battle with a congenital heart defect.
Born on January 24, 1987 in Washington D. C. she was the daughter of Scott D. and Dawn M. Yanish Long.
Kristina was a 2005 graduate of Walkersville High School and was currently attending Frederick Community College were she was majoring in Criminal Justice. She had been employed by C. V. S. in Walkersville. Kristina loved music, traveling, the beach, her friends and was an avid baseball fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving in addition to her parents are one brother Kevin Long of Walkersville and two sisters Samantha Long of Walkersville and Tabatha Long Theil of Florida. Grandfather Kenneth Yanish formerly of New Jersey now of Florida and his wife Susan. Grandmother Vera Hielm of Florida. Aunts Jill Yanish of New Jersey and Tonya Yanish of Florida. Uncle Kenneth Yanish Jr. of Florida. Special friend Jessica Sier of Emmitsburg and extended family Francesca Montello and her family.
Kristina was preceded in death by Grandparents Jane and Byron Long of Indiana, Grandmother Carmela Mangiafico Yanish of New Jersey, Great Aunt Nancy D'Urso of New Jersey and Great Uncle Salvatore Mangiafico Yanish of New Jersey.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 2, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services: Funeral Services will be held on Wendesday May 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD. Father Andy Aaron will officiate. Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.
