February 9, 1931 ~ April 21, 2019 (age 88)

Anna Margaret Litchfield Bullard, passed away from this life Easter morning, April 21, 2019, at Edenton Retirement Home in Frederick, MD. Throughout her life, everyone Anna met was touched by her kindness and love.

Anna Hohmann was born February 9, 1931 in Belair, Maryland, daughter of Margaret Pendergrast and Thomas Hohmann from Littleton, West Virginia. Anna was raised in Rockville, MD the middle child of three. She attended Notre Dame High School on a full scholarship where she was honored as the national Latin champion, among other accolades.

She met Bernard Anthony Litchfield, from Washington, D.C. in the choir (She played the organ) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockville, MD where they were married in 1951.

Anna’s limitless energy was an inspiration to everyone. She made her children’s clothes, continued to play the organ at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. While raising her family, she was a bookkeeper for several businesses, a paralegal for many years, and a real estate agent. She helped her children with homework and taxied them everywhere. She taught piano, was a talented artist specializing in detailed portraits, and was a remarkable example of love. Always a smile on her face.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Litchfield and Robert Bullard, daughters, Mary Margaret and Suzanne Margaret, son-in-law’s, Herbert Harris and John Petro, sister, Martha Mindte and brother, Thomas Hohmann.

Anna will be greatly missed by her children Antoinette Harris, Kathleen Litchfield, Barbara Ann Toula and her husband Tom, Jane Sczepanski and her husband Tom, Bernie Jr., Peter, Paul and his wife Laura, Andrew and his wife Jennifer, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren-as well as all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The Litchfield children invite you to share a personal story, thought or moment about Anna. Please come forward during the reception to honor her wondrous life.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Advocates for the Aging of Frederick County, AAFC, in the name of Anna Bullard. Thank you.
