Esther and I both worked at Fort Detrick and became fast friends. She was always so delightful to be around. I just saw her recently at Homewood and was surprised that I didn't know that she was there. We had a nice chat about old friends and things that we both shared at Detrick. It is so sad to learn that she passed away. I know it was difficult for her after Melvin died. Now they are together again.

Esther's passing is sudden in a sense but knowing she is with Mel again makes everything feel right. So many memories especially in my childhood years and a special bond I had personally with Esther(and Melvin) will never be forgotten. She always had such a vested interest in people she was close to and was very compassionate in her love for them. I will miss our short visits and those special hugs!!! And my wife/kids luckily got to know you through the years and understand how much you meant to me!! LOVE ALWAYS

Esther was one of the most kind and funniest people that I know. Always loved a good conversation and lots of laughter. I will truly miss her, but know she is so very happy to be with Melvin once again, enjoying love and laughter! Until we meet again, peace my friend!!
