I knew Kristin may years ago when we worked together at The Frederick News-Post. She was funny, helpful and truly a sweet person. She will be missed by many. I often think of her and remember the times at the FNP together fondly. She is now in a much better place then we are and can now visit everyday with her mom and dad who I knew she loved very much! Good-bye Kristan you will always be remembered and loved.

My heart breaks for Rob and Jack. My deepest condolences and heart hugs to them. I am so sorry I cannot travel up there. But I saw that Kris has such wonderful friends who are very rare and very special that she was well taken care of. I remember my little pirate when she was a baby. Her hair grew straight up and if we had streaked it with red or blue dye she could have been an early wee punk rocker. She also would look at us with a pirate eye. I really though her first words would be, "Avast there matey!" Kris was so special. She once told me I gave her her sense of adventure. I'm glad I did. And she certainly didn't let anything stop her adventure through life. I remember her hearty laughter and the good times we had together. And there were days in the past few visits we were able to share just between the two of us the deepest parts of our lives, our hearts and our joys and sorrows. She and Walt spent so much time with my ex and I camping, beaching, hiking etc. What times we had sitting on top of the van in Hatteras watching fire works, eating pizza on the O.C. boardwalk, sledding with my Husky. And I remember a day when all things were going wrong with her as a child and she looked at me and said plaintively, "Aunt Pat I'm just having a terrible day." Now all her days will be wonderful. No tears, or pain, or struggle.
Kris was a very strong woman in the line of strong women from her great grandmother, grandmother (my mom) and her mother (my sister). There never was, is, or will be anyone like her. But her light still shines on. God bless everyone who was her friend and those who stuck by her, took care of her and loved her to the end. Good bye sweet Kris. You have touched so many lives who will keep you in there hearts forever.
Love, Aunt Pat

We are so sorry to hear of Kris's passing. We were only lucky enough to meet her almost exactly two years ago--but she immediately felt like family. (Well, she was!) Her optimism and cheerfulness just beamed out of her and we loved her right away. She was one of the bravest people I've been lucky enough to know, and I'm sorry we won't get to know her better. My deepest condolences to Rob, Jack and the rest of the family.
