Was very saddened to hear of Richards passing. I was fortunate enough visit with him a few weeks before he left us, and I'll truly cherish the time I spent with him that day. Like so many, I'm sorry I hadn't kept in closer contact with Richard, he is a great guy, would do anything for anyone and not think twice. I can honestly speak to how good natured he was, I don't think that over the 10-12 years we were closer, that we ever fought and if you know me, that took a very patient person. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him and I look forward to being able to re-connect some day, and we can hit the field with all of our friends that were lost too soon. To the Combs family, I'm sorry for the loss and as cliche as this sounds, he's in a better place and not in anymore pain/discomfort. Our prayers are with Richard and your family as well as his friends. Warmest regards. Todd B

A true friend. A good listener with a big heart.
You shared your faith, your fears and your love for others.

I’m truly saddened and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I got to know this kind, genuine soul, who despite all the turmoils of life, always smiled and stayed positive. Rich quickly went from a coworker to a friend and he left us all too soon. I take solace in knowing he is in a far better place and at peace. I’m going to miss our runs to Farbucks my friend!

Rich attended many of our Christmas Eve parties and it was always was a pleasure to have Rich attend. He has been a good friend to our family and although the physical Rich may not be at our next party we know he will be there in spirit. RIP

Rich was a very caring soul and genuine friend; and a feisty comedian to the end. I am thankful for the time we had together, comforted by his love of and commitment to God, and yet deeply grieved by his passing. We will see each other again.

I remember Richard on a visit to our home here in Bellingham, Washington, I had put a crab pot out prior to his visit, he and I took my little pram out and retrieved the crab pot. It was loaded with Dungeness Crab and we went home and cooked the crab, when done and ready to eat Rich asked,"how many can I eat?" I answered "as many as you want" Well Richard consumed 5-6 crabs. He was always a joy to be around and had a wicked dry sense of humor. Rest in peace Richard F. Combs,
