Sharon Grams GreenMay 8, 1945 ~ May 9, 2018 (age 73)
Mrs. Sharon Grams Green, 73, of Rosemont (Knoxville), died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital with all of her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Francis Edward “Eddie” Green for 51 years.
Born May 8, 1945 in Brunswick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard William Grams and Thelma Irene Grams.
She is survived by her sons, M. Scott Green and Jeannie Palmer of Jefferson, and R. Kirk Green and wife Terri, of Middletown. She was enormously proud of her three granddaughters, Taylor A. Green, Emerald E. Green and Courtney P. Green and they in turn knew Sharon and Eddie had figured out early on how to be the best grandparents on the planet.
Also surviving are her beloved sisters and brothers-in-laws, Sandra and James Cox and Billie and David Hickman, all of Rosemont; and beloved brother and sister-in-law Todd and Eileen Grams of Gaithersburg and her nieces and nephews, Ryan Cox (Michelle Cox), Jeff Cox (Angie Cox), Leslie Hickman (Earl Nichols), Carrie Gaither (Michael Gaither), Meredith Grams Bierbower (Kurt Bierbower), Goddaughter Maria Grams Snyder (Matt Snyder) and John Grams.
Sharon was a graduate of Brunswick High School, Class of 1963. Following graduation, she went to work at the US Atomic Energy Commission, where she was employed until 1966. After staying at home to raise her two sons, she returned to the workforce in 1984, working for the Brunswick Medical Center Family Practice. When Sharon retired from Frederick Primary Care Associates (Brunswick) in 2004, she was serving as their Office Manager.
Sharon had a servant heart and supported her community in many ways. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. In 1998 she began volunteering at the Brunswick Food Bank and currently served as Treasurer. She also was an active member of the Brunswick Ecumenical Assistance Committee on Needs (BEACON) assisting with the Annual School Supply Drive and the Annual Community Secret Santa Program. Sharon was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church of Brunswick, member of the Finance Committee and served as Treasurer for 20 plus years. She enjoyed baking and her chocolate chip cookies and Texas Sheet Cake were requested on many occasions at church.
Sharon’s greatest joy was her family, especially her three granddaughters. She was their most supportive and proudest fan and never missed a softball game or tournament, a field hockey game, dance recital, pageant, birthday or graduation. With help from her granddaughters, Sharon learned how to FaceTime so they could keep in touch during their college years. She always had a funny story to tell them and the laughs were endless. Sharon loved hosting the annual family summer picnics, spending the holidays with her family (as the main cookie baker) and her and Eddie’s most favorite place to visit was Walt Disney World.
