Anthony Casadonte

Anthony P. Casadonte, 90, of Walkersville passed away Saturday October 12, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born April 22, 1923 in Bristol CT, son of the late Maria Grazia (DeFilipo) and Rocco Casadonte. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Jean N. Casadonte. He was a member of St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick, MD.

Mr. Casadonte retired from Airpax Corp (Frederick) in 1988 after a nearly 40 year career as a manufacturing engineer, beginning at Sessions Clock Company of Bristol CT. He was a regular swimmer and avid golfer, playing regularly, with his last round this past August, and was proud of his 3 career hole in ones.

Tony was life long gardener and a good neighbor to all. This is exemplified by his long history of blood donation having given over 20 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.

Survived by his four children, Paul & Kathy Casadonte of Raleigh NC, Jane Casadonte, John & Pat Casadonte both of Walkersville and Tony & Mary Stanley Casadonte of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Laura Casadonte of  Walkersville, Timothy, Mathew & Joseph Casadonte of Raleigh NC, and Benjamin and Carolyn Casadonte of Atlanta. He is also survived by one sister Madeline Zoni , and her husband Joseph of Plantsville CT, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters, Francesca Armento and husband Rocco of Bristol CT, and Rosemarie Polzella and her husband Louis of Bristol CT.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 from St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Officiating will be Father Miguel Mateo.

Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be his grandchildren.
