Lucille "Tillie" Kitchen

Lucille A. (Smith) "Tillie" Kitchen, 85, of Boonsboro, Maryland, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on March 7, 1926, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Guy Wilbur and Myrtle Eva (Knode) Smith.

She was a 1944 graduate of Boonsboro High School and went on to attend the Hagerstown Business College.

Tillie had attended and was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.

She had been employed with C. William Hetzer, Inc. General Contractors in Hagerstown and later in her life worked for Hagerstown Trust in Hagerstown and Boonsboro branches.

Tillie was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post #10 Ladies Auxillary in Boonsboro.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Bruce M. Kitchen, and her son Eric B. Kitchen of Boonsboro.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Boonsboro Cemetery.  Rev. Elaine McGann will officiate.

Friends are invited to visit beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where the family will be present to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 134 South Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713.
