Ms. Nancy Jean Hoffman, 66, of Frederick, MD died Friday, June 29, 2012 after a courageous battle against cancer. She passed away peacefully at the Kline Hospice House.
Born December 17, 1945 in Frederick, she as the daughter of Catherine Hoffman and the late George Hoffman, Sr.
Nancy graduated from Frederick High School in 1963. She was employed by Sangner Incorporated for twelve years, and spent thirty-one years with K-Mart before retiring in 2005.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Catherine, is her brother George Hoffman, Jr. and wife Susan of Walkersville; niece Jennifer Hoffman of Walkersville; nephew Paul Hoffman and wife Lori and their two children Lukas and Ainsley of Walkersville. In addition, she will be missed by many relatives and friends.
Nancy will be remembered for her devotion to her mother and family. She enjoyed laughter and kept a sense of humor within her family that will be remembered fondly. Nancy had an adventurous interest in traveling that included trips with family to sporting events, local concerts and other popular destinations such as Niagra Falls, Florida and Atlantic City. She enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, and baking for her family.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
