William Bolyard

August 6, 1925 — March 27, 2016

Mr. William Warren Bolyard, 90, of Frederick died peacefully Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margery "Margie" Lucille Bolyard, who predeceased him on November 7, 1997.

Born August 6, 1925 in Erwin, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Harriet Ellen (Jones) and Carroll Perry Bolyard.

He was a veteran and served his country in the Navy during World War II.

He was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a Master Mason of Philantropic Masonic Lodge #168 of New Market, and regularly attended Frederick Church of the Brethren.

Mr. Bolyard was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Frederick Keys. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by four children, Ronetta Sue Wixson of Frederick, John William Bolyard of Frederick, Carroll Ernest Bolyard of Bakerton, WV, and David Alan Bolyard of Frederick; three grandchildren, Michael W. Baer, II, of Purcellville, VA; Carly Erin Bolyard of Knoxville, TN; and Jerika Rein Bolyard, also of Knoxville; three great-grandchildren, Emily Michaela Baer, Savannah Nicole Baer and Matthew Evan Baer; and many nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.

Mr. Bolyard also will be remembered by Jessie Fisher, his companion for the last 10 years.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with a Masonic service to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Bolyard will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 4th from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Harry C. Cole.

Interment will follow at 3 p.m in Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 131 West Second Street, Frederick, MD 21702.
