Adriana Bobbio Gramaglia Bokma, 78, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at home. She was the wife of Bob Henry Bokma for 48 years. Born on November 22, 1946, in Alessandria, Italy, she was the daughter of Carlo Bobbio Mussio and Ercolina (Gramaglia Bertolino) Bobbio.

She was educated at Colegio Maria Auxiliadora (Barquisimeto), Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado (Barquisimeto), and at University of California, Davis. A veterinary clinical pathologist, Adriana also loved teaching and in later years taught Spanish and religious education. In her Catholic faith, she was a member of Mother Seton Parish, a daily communicant, catechist, extraordinary minister of holy communion, and a committed member of the Legion of Mary.

With her family, she emigrated to El Tocuyo and Barquisimeto, and later, Guanare, Venezuela. She also resided in Arecibo and San Juan, Puerto Rico, Davis, California, Topeka, Kansas, Southold, New York, and Germantown, Maryland.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Carl Peter Bokma and wife Anita, a daughter, Stephanie Ann Bokma and partner Stephanie Fotos-Lawton; grandchildren: Joseph Carl, Logan Robert, Gabriella AdriMaria and Anthony Cooper Bokma as well as family members in Italy and Venezuela.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd, Germantown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following the visitation, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 400, Fairfield, CT 06825.
