Alexander Sledge, Jr.

Alexander Sledge Jr, of Frederick, passed away April 22, 2017. He was born May 26, 1933 in Cambridge , MA to the late Alexander Sledge of Alabama and Elizabeth Baumgardner, born in Brazil.
Attending the Naval Academy, he was a Cpl. with the USMC (1953-1956), serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Sledge worked as a Technical Writer for GE and was a Member of St. Peter’s Church, Ocean City, the Optimist Club and the Lions Club. He was a founder of Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, MD
He enjoyed reading Spy novels and Golf.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Sledge of Boswell, PA; sons, Jeffrey A Sledge & daughter in law Sharon Sledge of New Market Md and William A. Sledge; granddaughter, Rachel K Sledge of New Market Md; grandson, Alexander Charles Sledge of Lusby, Md; sisters, Ann Thompson of Pine Bluff , AR and Daphne Cruze-Zug of Chapel Hill, NC
A Memorial Services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Bethesda United Methodist Church 11900 Bethesda Church Rd, Damascus, MD. Burial will be held immediately following the service in the church cemetery.
