Allison Rebecca Stone

Frederick

Allison Rebecca Stone, a whirlwind of spunk and compassion, passed away on February 5, 2026. Born on August 9, 1987, in Frederick, Maryland, Allison spent her 38 years living life with a vibrant energy that was impossible to ignore.

While her personality was famously "spunky," many might not have known the depth of her athletic prowess. Allison’s grace and rhythm started in the dance studio where she trained in tap, jazz, and ballet from an early age, until she earned a place in the dance company where her dedication and talent truly flourished. She was also a powerhouse on the ice, where she competed individually, landing double jumps and earning a spot on the competitive traveling synchronized ice skating team.

However, Allison’s true calling was her extraordinary bond with animals. She shared this love in her veterinary work over the years. Often joking that she preferred her four-legged friends to people, she was affectionately known to many as "The Animal Whisperer." Her home and heart were a sanctuary where she tirelessly treated the wounds of rescues, cared for the neighborhood kitties, and ensured every creature she met felt loved and pampered with treats and toys.

Allison dearly loved her family and was a loyal and trusted friend. Her love was unconditional and her support unwavering. Her compassion was evident in how she looked out for others, always putting others before herself.

Allison is survived by her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Dennis Pruitt; her sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Christopher Morris; her grandmother, Joanna Stone; and godmother Sandra Lawson. She also leaves behind her beloved animal family: Gunston, Snowball, Remington, Penelope, Campbell (aka Dude), and Sully. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Stone Jr.; grandparents, Virginia and Willard Ruffner; and grandfather, Clyde Stone Sr.

To honor Allison’s love of animals, the family welcomes donations in her memory to Friends for Life Cat Rescue, Tiplings or an animal rescue of your choice. A celebration to honor Allison’s life, filled with the music, stories and animals she loved, is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
