Alma Bray

 

Alma Bray, 97, of Lovettsville, Virginia, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at her home.

 

Born on November 29, 1926, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late William Locher Reinhart and Jennette Violet (King) Reinhart.

 

She was an active member of the UDC and Packhorse Ford Chapter of the DAR. She was a longtime member of Westover Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School.

 

She loved genealogy, family reunions, gardening, knitting, reading, living on the farm, and, most of all, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by her son, C. Locher Bray, and wife, Leah Bray, of Shepherdstown, WV; two daughters, Bonni May, and husband, W. Stratford May, Jr., of Gainesville, FL, and Mary Wagner, and husband, Edward Wagner, Jr., of Lovettsville, VA; daughter-in-law, Linda Bray, of Tarboro, NC (who passed away 05/09/24); six grandchildren, William S. May III, Heather Bray Webb, Travis May, Katie Bray White, C. Tyler Bray, and Emily Bray Cohen; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Henry M. Bray, of Canton, GA, and James R. Bray, of Waleska, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leldon Bray, and her son, Arthur Felton Bray.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD. A graveside service and interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown, WV, at 12:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2024.

 

Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or a charity of your choice.
