In Loving Memory of Andrew John Lawrence, III

April 8, 1954 – July 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew John Lawrence, III, age 71, on July 18, 2025. A beloved husband, father, and friend, John left us too soon, leaving behind a life filled with family, great friends, and fun adventures.

John was the devoted husband of 52 years to Ruth Lawrence, and the proud father of three surviving children: Elizabeth Lawrence (Phillip) , Cynthia Romero (Juan), and Elisha Spielman (Michael). John was a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Grandpa John." He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Virginia Lawrence, and his beloved son, Daniel Lawrence, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

A skilled carpenter by trade, John spent decades building homes and lives with craftsmanship and care. Whether it was building something from scratch or repairing what was broken, his work stood as a testament to his dedication and integrity.

John was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles, cheering them on through victories and heartbreaks alike. In his free time, he found joy in working with his hands—building furniture, tinkering in his workshop, or lending his skills to help a neighbor in need. He believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well, a principle he passed on to his children and lived out each day.

A viewing for family and friends will be held, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, MD at 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be held immediately following at the same location.
