Andrew Rogers, 67, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at his home in Frederick, Maryland.
Born on November 30, 1958, in Rockville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Montgomery Rogers and Mary Margaret (Winterfield) Rogers.
Andrew, studied at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown West Virginia.
Andrew had a passion for food, one of the early restaurant managers for Sir Walter Raleigh Inn, he went on to be regional restaurant manager for Hard Times Café and Panera Bread before opening his own place, Rex’s Downtown Grill in Frederick, Maryland. His career was dedicated to building up his employees and giving them the tools to thrive in this world. He performed his work with passion and great generosity, inspiring many to continue on pathways to professional and personal success.
A lifelong golfer, he made his second home at Clustered Spires in Frederick, Maryland where he helped cultivate a vibrant and large community of friends and fellow golf enthusiasts. With many great friends he was able to travel the world and play rounds on some of the most renown courses, sharing fun and laughter with some great people that he cherished with all his heart.
Along with a love of golf, Andrew was a lifelong fan of the Orioles, the Ravens, and loved watching college basketball, supporting the University of Maryland Terrapins and especially the St. Francis Red Flash. He enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews throughout their sports careers whether playing or coaching. He shared his love of sports with his two children and his two grandchildren by always treating them to sporting events (O’s games!) And of course being present at every one of his grandson’s baseball and basketball games.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Jacob Rogers, and Stephanie Kay Berry, her husband Tommy Berry and their children Louie and Josie Berry. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Rogers, Kathleen Rogers-Senuta, Monica Merkel and Elizabeth Rogers McGowan, as well as his brothers Bryan Rogers, Stephen Rogers, and Matthew Rogers.
A celebration of Andrew's life journey will take place at Saint Katharine Drexel in Frederick Maryland on Tuesday, May 26th at 11:30 am. Father Matt will officiate. Interment will take place at the Columbaria of St. Charles Lwanga in the Saint Katherine Drexel Memorial Garden following the service.
A get-together to celebrate Andrews life will be held after, details coming soon.
