Anna Zeock Smith, a woman whose vibrant spirit and unwavering determination touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, following a long illness. Born on December 6, 1957, to the late John and Kiyoko Zeock of Brown's Mills, New Jersey.
Anna held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education, a foundation that exemplified her lifelong commitment to wellness and vitality. She was especially proud of her career at Verizon, where she dedicated herself to sales with pride and professionalism. Her work was more than just a job; it was a testament to her resilience and her ability to connect with people on a genuine level. Indeed, Anna had a remarkable gift—she could talk to anyone, finding common ground and fostering friendships wherever she went.
Known as a very determined procrastinator, Anna navigated life with a unique blend of patience and resolve. Her steadfastness shone through even under pressure, for she was always herself—never changing to fit the moment or expectations of others. This authenticity was a cornerstone of her character and earned her the deep respect of her many friends and associations. She leaves behind a wealth of friendships, a testament to the kindness and sincerity she shared so freely.
Away from her professional life, Anna had passions that brought joy and comfort to her days. She was an avid sports fan who loved watching baseball, especially cheering for her beloved Baltimore Orioles. Football, both college and professional, also held a special place in her heart, offering moments of excitement and community connection.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Smith; her brother, Johnny Zeock; her sister, Helen McDaniel; and her nephew, Todd McDaniel.
As we remember Anna Zeock Smith, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life characterized by warmth, determination, and an enduring spirit that never wavered. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of friendship, authenticity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. In her memory, may we carry forward the kindness she embodied and the conversations she so effortlessly started, reminding us all of the power of simply being true to ourselves.
