Anne Marie (Shaheen) Gallagher went home to Christ on Sunday, November 17, 2024, peacefully in her home in Mt. Airy, MD. Anne was born on May 12, 1964 in Wheaton, MD.
Anne is survived by her husband of 29 years, Weedon Gallagher, and her sons, Connor (Devon) Gallagher of Williamsburg, VA, J. Kirby (Alicia) Gallagher of Mt. Airy, and Tynan Gallagher of Mt. Airy. Anne is also survived by her brother, Bill (Donna) Shaheen of MN, and sister, Mary (John) Adams of MT, fifteen brothers and sisters in law, and over 70 nieces/nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her father, William Shaheen, mother, Joan Quinn, sister, Gretchen Kelly and brother, Greg Shaheen.
Anne graduated from Wheaton High School and University of Maryland College Park. After several years as a molecular biologist at American Red Cross, Anne decided to work at home raising her children. Anne returned to work in 2007, at the Ft. Detrick Commissary. Anne enjoyed family time most of all but also enjoyed spending time gardening even earning her Master Gardner certification, and any games involving words, especially Wordle.
The family will receive friends on from 6-8 PM on Sunday, November 24, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy. Rite of Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Ijamsville at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 25. Rite of Christian burial will follow at a later date and will be family only.
