Arthur Lewis Hargett

Mr. Arthur Lewis Hargett, 95, died Saturday, January 13, 2007, at the Vindobona Nursing and Rehabilitative Care facility in Braddock Heights, MD. He was the husband of Minnie Earle Molesworth and would have celebrated 72 years of marriage on June 21.

Born in Frederick County on January 31, 1911, he was the son of the late Elmer Lester and Minnie Evelyn (Smith) Hargett.

Mr. Hargett worked at the OxFibre Brush Company for 35 years in various management positions. He then retired from the Frederick Trading Company after 15 years where he served as the Sales Promotion Manager. Mr. Hargett was a former member of both the National Rifle Association and the Redman's Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Sydney (Carty) Teegarden and husband Tom of Mt. Airy, MD, and Patrick Neal Hargett and wife Sandy of Middletown, MD; four grandchildren, Eric Carty and wife Debbie of Taneytown, MD, Christopher Hargett and wife Cindy of Frederick, MD, Jennifer Pitz and husband Dave of Baltimore, MD and Sarah Bae and husband Moo Sung of Columbia, MD; four great grandchildren, Shannon and Lauren Carty of Taneytown, MD, Ava Hargett of Frederick, MD and Brayden Bae of Columbia, MD; and one great-great grandchild, Mackenzie Whipple of Taneytown, MD.


Visitation: See Services

Services: A memorial service will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be private.
