Barbara Anne Halling

Barbara Anne Halling, beloved mother and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Brunswick, Maryland. She was born on October 6, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dorothy Wells Halling and Leroy Halling.

Barbara’s early years were spent moving from Illinois to Arkansas, and as an adult, she made her home primarily in North Carolina and Maryland. She was a devoted mother who deeply loved her children and treasured the time spent with them. Barbara had a passion for reading books and enjoyed watching movies, finding joy and comfort in stories and family alike.

She was predeceased by two of her children, Rick Grimes and Lisa Grimes Greene, whose memories she held close to her heart.

Barbara truly enjoyed her five grandchildren-Brittany Hipkins (Seth), Andrew Pierce (Noelle), Hillary Foulk (Anthony), Taylor Gelinas (Reese), and Emilee Pierce (Mike)-and cherished the special moments spent with each of them. She was also blessed to meet all seven of her great-grandchildren-Camille, James, Teddy, Graham, Bryce, Calvin, and Rhett-over the recent holidays, a joyful occasion that brought her great happiness.

Barbara’s life was marked by love, resilience, and determination. Her family and friends will remember her warmth, kindness, and the special moments shared together. She is survived by her brother Billy Murphy (Sandy) and sons Will Pierce (Barb) and Skip Grimes.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Brunswick), 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD, where a celebration of Barbara's life journey will take place at 11 am. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Interment will be private.
