Mrs. Barbara Jean Simmons, born July 29, 1932 in Garrett Park, MD, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at her home on December 4, 2008, after a short illness. She was the daughter of Gladys Noreen Goggans.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Marvin Wheaton Simmons, Jr. They were wed on February 9, 1950. Both she and her husband were natives of Bethesda, MD and resided in Montgomery County for many years before moving to Frederick, MD.
Mrs. Simmons in also survived by her children: Debra Jean Simmons Dove, Lawrence Marvin Simmons, Donald Wheaton Simmons and Laura Jean Simmons Allen; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is remembered as a loving, dedicated spouse and mother. She will be dearly missed.

Services: Private family services and interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick on Monday, December 8, 2008.
