It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Tyler Burns on Monday, January 8th, 2024. He was born on February 26th, 1940, in Harlem, New York to his parents who have gone before him, his mother and father, Elizabeth McDowell and Charles Burns.

Barry was a loving husband, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Burns; grandsons, Joel Burns and Blake Evans; granddaughters-in-law, Tanderia Evans, and Victoria Burns; and great-granddaughter, Genevieve Burns.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Burns; and by his daughter, Helen Burns.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20th from 1 to 2 p.m. when services will begin at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
