Belva Jean Hoffman, 84, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on December 1, 1941, in Mt. Lena, MD she was the daughter of the late Ernest William and Bessie Jeannette (Kephart) Hoffman.

Belva was a graduate of Sinai Hospital nursing school in Baltimore, MD. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Sinai Hospital and the VA hospital, ending her career at Ft. Detrick. Belva enjoyed shopping, knitting, traveling and was an avid sports fan. She also enjoyed many trips with her girlfriends, Girls on the Go, all over the country.

She is survived by her siblings: Shirley Taylor, Harold Hoffman and wife Carolyn, Betty O'Brien and husband John, Carolyn Suranno and husband Mike, Diane Trickett, Donald Hoffman, Gary Hoffman and wife Mary Lou and Debbie Ridenour. She was a loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Richard Hoffman, Sr. and Patricia McClanathan.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2016, at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery, 21234 Mt. Lena Rd., Boonsboro, MD 21713.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Belva's name.
