Betty M. Kitchen

Betty M. Kitchen, 98, of Hagerstown, Maryland, formerly Boonsboro, MD passed from this life on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Creekside Village in Hagerstown, MD. She was the wife of the late Leon Jackson Kitchen.

Born on March 5, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Josiah and Elsie (Biser) Itnyre.

Betty retired from London Fog after many years. She had a green thumb and really enjoyed gardening, plants, and flowers. Betty loved to cook and make meals for her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by five children, Gloria Jean Clopper and husband Edward, Kenneth Leon Kitchen and wife Liz, Ronald Lee Kitchen Sr., and wife Rita, Barbara Ann Hallmark, and Deborah Kay Grim and husband Dave: 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Robert P. Kitchen, granddaughter, Tammy Mumma, great-grandchildren Cory and Michael and sister Irene Ruppenthall.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.

A graveside service will take place at 1 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Boonsboro Cemetery.
