Beverly Ann Grigsby

Beverly Ann Grigsby, born May 6, 1945, of Braddock Heights, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026.

Beverly was above all else, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild meant everything to her. She was the true matriarch of her family. She gave her family a lifetime of unconditional love, kindness, laughter, support, and that love was returned to her every step of the way.

She was the beloved wife of Skip Grigsby. They celebrated 63 years of marriage on August 22, 2026. She was a loving mother to Rocky Grigsby and Heather Grigsby Causey. She was mother-in-law to Jo Ann Grigsby.

She is also survived by her granddaughter Madison Grigsby Bartgis and her husband, Carl Bartgis; her grandson, Wyatt James-Ellsworth Causey; her bonus granddaughter, Ashlynn Finley Causey, Wyatt’s sister; and her great-granddaughter, Genevieve Jo Bartgis.

Beverly was one of a kind. She loved her family fiercely and lived in her own wonderfully unapologetic way. She had a quick wit and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. To know Beverly was to love her, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path was sure to leave with a story, a smile, or a little piece of her heart.

She was known for her unmistakable sense of style and her natural eye for interior design. She had a deep love for music and was always the first one on the dance floor. She loved animals, corvettes, the beach, shopping, and sitting on her porch enjoying a cigarette and a glass of chardonnay with ice, “hydrate while you dehydrate” as she liked to say.

But perhaps, what Beverly loved most, beyond her family, was connecting with people. It didn’t matter if you were a lifelong friend or a complete stranger passing by. If Beverly struck up a conversation with you, you were likely to walk away feeling a little lighter. She had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her warmth came as naturally as her laughter. Beverly didn’t simply meet people-she left an impression on them.

Throughout her final days, Beverly was surrounded with non-stop love, comfort, and support from her family. The people she loved most were there beside her, giving back the love and devotion she had given them throughout her life.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has surrounded Beverly and her family with love and support through prayers, visits, calls, and thoughtful messages. They are especially grateful to those who have shared photos, memories, and stories of Beverly. Hearing those stories-especially the funny ones-brought laughter, comfort, and joy during one of the most difficult times. Those memories are beautiful and a reminder of the special mark Beverly left on everyone who knew her, and they will be treasured by her family forever.

A private celebration of life will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Beverly’s memory to Doey’s House of Washington County. The compassion, comfort, and loving care provided to Beverly and her family during her final days meant more than words can express. Donations would be a meaningful way to honor Beverly and help provide that same comfort and support to other families in need.
