Beverly Ann Nunemaker

Beverly Ann Nunemaker, 68, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Genesis - Gettysburg Center, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on August 24, 1957, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Peter and Geraldine Delores (Carr) Fischer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Jim) Nunemaker, and special friend, Habib Maidanwal.

Bev was a graduate of Catoctin High School and spent many years as a transportation aid for special needs children before retiring from Frederick County Public Schools. Additionally, she worked as an advertising agent for the Frederick News Post and manager of the Frederick Greyhound bus station.

Over the years, Bev built a life centered around family, friends, and service. She adored her nieces and great-nieces and nephews and loved to spoil them with gifts. She was very involved in the Thurmont Lion’s Club and loved the difference she made in her community.

Bev enjoyed travel (especially cruising) and loved to explore and experience new locations.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sister, Kimberly Whitacre and husband, William of Rolla, Missouri; nieces, Christa Whitacre and wife, Courtney, and Aime White and husband, Timothy, also of Rolla, Missouri; great-nephews, Brandon DeFilippo and Tyler Thomeczek; and great-nieces, Miranda Thomeczek, Porshia White, Emma White, and Lucy White; and many aunts and cousins.

The family will receive family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont with a service immediately following. Deacon Joseph Wolf will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Mt. Prospect Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the upkeep and maintenance of the Thurmont Lion’s Club Memorial Garden.
