Billie B. Baxter, of Frederick, formerly of Mt. Airy, passed away at the age of 102 on Monday April 22, 2024 at Homewood Crumland Farms in Frederick. She was the loving wife of the late Elwood E. Baxter for 64 years. 

Born on January 28, 1922 in Rockwood, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Bristow and Daisy (Kennedy) Bristow. 

She married her husband on June 4, 1949. They resided in Kensington, Maryland before moving to Mt. Airy in 1991. 

Billie worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 36 years before retiring in 1978. She worked in the Cotton Division in Washington, DC. 

She is survived by her great-nephew Edward J. Marklin III (Jane). In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her niece Geraldine Marklin and her cousin Katie Layman. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Homewood and Bridging Life for their care and support. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 2, 2024 10-11am at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. Funeral service to be held directly following visitation at 11am.  Pastor Mike Yoho will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, Maryland.
