Robert Gary Baldwin

Robert Gary "Bobby" Baldwin, age 72, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 13, 1954, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late Kathern and William Henry Baldwin.

Bobby spent 52 beautiful years married to his high school sweetheart, Judy Baldwin. A proud veteran, Bobby served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed aboard the USS Enterprise from 1975 to 1978. Following his military service, he went on to build a long and dedicated career on the road. He was previously employed by the Nolan Company and Moyer & Sons Moving and Storage, eventually retiring from Smith Transport after many years as a professional long-haul truck driver.

Throughout his life, Bobby found great joy in the simple pleasures. He loved spending his free time fishing on the river, and he was equally at home in the garage working on his cars.

Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, Judy, is his daughter, Samantha Baldwin, whom he loved more than she will ever know; and his sister-in-law, Christy Hemshrodt, whom he loved and thought of as his own daughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as two sisters, whom he loved very much, Hope Baldwin and Bonnie Bronald.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro with Rev. Tim May officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
