Bonita Joy Whyte, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on January 22, 1954, Bonita lived a life marked by kindness, strength, compassion, and devotion to those she loved.
Bonnie was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to many. She had a generous spirit, a warm smile and a heart that welcomed everyone. Whether through her caring words, unwavering support, or the simple moments shared with loved ones, she made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She found happiness in spending time with family, crafting, reading, watching television (especially ice skating and NCAA basketball) and caring deeply for others. Bonnie will be remembered for her resilience, sense of humor, grace and the love she freely gave throughout her life.
She is survived by her brother, Martin Huber; sister, Kathy Huber; daughter, Amy Cox (husband Chris); son, Brian Fernicola; and her beloved grandchildren, Caleb Cox, JW Fernicola and Cady Cox. They along with her dear friends will continue to honor her memory and carry her love in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ward Whyte, III, who welcomed her home with open arms.
An interment and celebration of Bonita’s life will be held this summer in Maine. Details to be provided later. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the beautiful life she lived.
Though deeply missed, Bonnie’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
