Brenda Gail Harrison, 81, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Lewis. Brenda was the wife of Douglas Harrison and was previously married to the late Jerry Wayne Hamrick.
She is survived by her children, Darron Hamrick, Timothy Hamrick, and Susan Hamrick; her brother, George Lewis and his wife, Irene, of Myersville, MD; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Brenda earned an associate’s degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant and worked for many years in a dental office.
She was an active member of the Frederick Fireman’s Association and volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary, supporting local fire stations throughout Frederick. She also held numerous positions within the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Auxiliary and was a trained EMT. Her commitment and service were well known throughout the fire community, and her decades of service will be remembered and greatly missed.
Brenda will be remembered for her dedication to helping others, her kindness, and her lifelong involvement in the fire service community. She especially loved attending the annual Firemen’s Convention in Ocean City, Maryland, alongside her lifelong friend, Kathy Knipple.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the funeral home in Frederick with Rev. Tim May officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
