Brenda Spurr Price

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Spurr Price announce her passing on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the age of 81 years.

Brenda is predeceased by her parents Philip and Delma Spurr, her sister Shirley-Ann, her brother Jim, and her husband Harry Lank Price to whom she was married for fifty wonderful years. She is survived by her children, Stephen, Michael, and Christopher. She was a devoted Mother-In-Law to Lauren, Deb, and Gisela; the three daughters he never had. She also leaves to mourn her brother Phillip “Wayne” Spurr and all the people who have known and loved her over the years.

Brenda grew up in Aylesford, Nova Scotia before leaving Canada to live with her Aunt and Uncle in the United States where she attended school at University of Maryland College Park where she made many lifelong friends. After college, she met Harry, the love of her life, after he returned from serving in the Marines during the Vietnam War. After their wedding, they settled down in the house they raised their three boys before retiring to the peaceful tranquility of Jefferson where they lived out their remaining years.

Brenda found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: cooking, crafting, and volunteering at her church. In her youth, Brenda dreamed of becoming an elementary school educator. While her career path took her in another direction, she never lost her love for teaching. Teaching Sunday School lessons was a passion and labor of love she looked forward to every week. Brenda had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the love she shared, and the countless lives she touched.

As a mother, she gave selflessly, nurturing her children with patience, wisdom, and endless encouragement. Her greatest joy came from being a Nana. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, creating memories they will carry forever through her gentle hugs, encouraging words, and the unmistakable warmth of her presence.

The family will receive family, friends, and those who wish to remember Brenda at 11AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Jefferson Ruritan Center located at 4603-B Lander Road, Jefferson, MD 21755. There will be a celebration of her life followed by a reception for those that wish to celebrate Brenda’s life and remember her passing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Jefferson United Methodist Church at 3882 Jefferson Pike PO Box 488, Jefferson, MD 21755. The people who gather in that house of worship became an extended family that she loved and cherished until the end.
