Listen to Obituary

Brenda Wagner Rahn, 83, passed quietly surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 18, 2026. She was the beloved wife of John Peter Rahn for 54 glorious years.

Born in Florence, South Carolina, Brenda was the only infant on the Air Force Base in 1942. She was born the daughter of the late H.N. Dent “Fritz” and the late Wanda Newell Dent (Wagner) and was lovingly adopted by her Daddy, the late Issac C. Wagner “Buddy” after the death of H.N. in WWII. She grew up a proud “Air Force Brat.” Her travels as a daughter of an Air Force officer took her to South Carolina, Florida, California, her beloved Panama, and then finally Maine.

She graduated from Bangor High School in Bangor, Maine in 1960. She was the proud owner of Bookkeepers Plus and Plus Temps. Her most accomplished achievement was as the founder and Director of The Belles of Berkley, a Sweet Adelines Chorus, and A Touch of Velvet quartet, both of Berkley County, West Virginia. She had previously been a member of the Vienna Sweet Adelines Chorus of Vienna, Virginia. Having studied at a music conservatory in Maine, Brenda was an avid piano player and lover of all music, especially Elvis. She loved hosting parties, sewing, jewelry making, ballroom dancing, cake decorating, and creating beautiful crafts of all kinds.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Debora Rahn Fleming (Douglas), Kenneth Charles Rahn (Holly), David Clarence Rahn (Kathy), and Bethany Rahn Foundas (Dino), eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Adcock (Sheena), Ashley Fisher (John), Justine Dix (Philip), Angela Arnheim, Danielle Fleming, Billy Fleming, Jonathan Fleming, Brooke Foundas, Nicole Foundas, Kristen Foundas, and Steven Rahn as well as thirteen great grandchildren, along with numerous cherished friends. She was preceded in death by Issac Wagner (Chris) her brother, and Raymond Rahn, a son.
