Brian Cooper

With great sadness, we announce the death of Brian Keith Cooper, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Brian Keith Cooper, 62, of Frederick, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 12, 2023 after a courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration Syndrome, a form of Parkinson’s Disease. He was the loving husband of Debbie Cooper and would have celebrated their 42nd anniversary on July 18th. 

Born on September 21, 1960 in Leesburg, VA, he was the son of the late Irvin Cooper, Jr. and Shirley (Foltz) and David "Lee" Ridgeway of Jefferson, MD.

Brian grew up and worked on the Shafer Farm in Knoxville, graduated from Brunswick High School in 1979, worked in the industrial glass business, lastly employed at Montgomery Windows in Frederick. Brian was known for spending time outdoors and for his love for mowing, even chasing groundhogs while mowing. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply. 

In addition to his wife, Debbie, Brian is survived by two children, Phillip “Phil” Cooper and wife, Brooke, of Martinsburg, WV and Sarah (Cooper) Harper and husband, Robert, of Grand Island, FL; four grandchildren, Lucas and Logan Cooper and Callan and Levi Harper; one brother, David Cooper and wife, Michelle, of Hedgesville, WV; one sister, Kathy (Cooper) Dawson and husband, Tommy of Brunswick; and his dog, Lexi. 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday the 18th. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on the 18th. Viewing and funeral services will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick, MD. Interment will follow in Brownsville Cemetery.
