Bryan Hunter Robinson, MSGT, USA, Ret.

Master Sergeant Bryan Hunter Robinson, U.S. Army (Retired), lost his battle with cancer on August 26,2026. 

Born June 20, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was the son of John Robinson and Geneva Cook Robinson.Bryan enlisted in the Army in June 1968 and proudly served his country for more than 20 years. His military career included a tour in Vietnam as a combat medic, service at the Walter Reed Army Hospital, being stationed in El Paso, TX, as well as Nuremberg and Stuttgart, West Germany, and his final assignment at Fort Detrick, MD, where he served in Army Intelligence at AFMIC. He earned numerous medals and commendations for his service. Bryan also earned an MBA from Webster College and a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma. After retiring from the Army, he worked for several years as an independent contractor. 

Bryan enjoyed his life to the fullest. He had an amiable personality, a wry sense of humor, and a love of good music. A talented craftsman, he built beautiful furniture for his family, including a blanket chest made with traditional hand tools. He loved sailing and kept a boat on the Rhode River for many years. His greatest joy, however, was painting with oils. He studied at the Delaplaine Arts Center and attended art seminars in France and Italy with the “Americans in Paris” program. Several of his paintings were acquired by collectors. He was also an active member of the YMCA until his health prevented him from exercising. During his illness, he found great comfort in the companionship of the family cat, Feliz.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Patricia; his former wife and mother of his daughters, Ann Duble, daughters Kelly Robinson and Elaine Orner and her husband, Troy, and their children Zach, Corrie, Rileigh, and Amber McCarver and her husband, Beau; stepchildren Annalisa Bandalera, Christian Licodo and his wife, Denise, and Maria Pace and her husband, Duncan; step-grandchildren Spring Pace and Matthew Licodo and his wife, Lindy, and their children Ethan and Emory Licodo; his brother Jack Robinson of Houston, TX, and his wife, Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews.Bryan's absence leaves an immense hole in our hearts. We will always honor him by listening to good music, living life to the fullest, and every once in a while, only eating the croutons in a salad—because, as Bryan always said, “We are all boys, grown tall.”

A memorial will be held Tuesday, September 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. A reception will follow at Glory Days Grill, 1305 W. Seventh Street. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.Instead of flowers, donations may be made in Bryan's name to Hospice of Frederick at FrederickHealthHospice.org.
