Calvin Atlee Grams, jr.

Calvin Atlee Grams Jr, 84 of Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, passed suddenly on 1 December 2023.

Grams Sr. His friends and family referred to him using his middle name, Atlee. He had fond memories
of his younger years with his grandparents, Earl and Florence Grams ; they adored him
He was so proud of earning his Eagle Scout as a youth. Atlee joined the United States Army at the age of
17. During his 26-year military service, he was first a paratrooper, then an infantry man and finally
served in the mission critical logistics fields. He served In Vietnam, where he was wounded, earning a
Purple Heart and a Combat Infantry Badge. He met his love, Lieselotte, in Germany and raised his
children there during his many overseas military assignments. He was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY
near Clarksville, TN, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, and Fort Polk, LA. He completed his service to his
country as a Civil Servant at Nellis Air Force Base.

Atlee was active in the Shriner and Masonic lodges in Germany and Brunswick. He was an avid hunter
and fisherman. He loved to travel the world. His favorite trip was an African Safari. He was a member
of the Christian Community at St. Paul's Church. His parents loved traveling to visit him and his family!
He always said “HIS MOTHER WAS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!”
He is preceded in death by his wife “Lotte”, his parents, his brother Reese Grams, his sister-in-law Nancy
Grams, and his brother-in-law, Roger Payton and Baby Tony.

He is survived by his children, Jeanette Grams Smart (Jen) and Ron Smart, Calvin A. Grams III and
Caroline H. Grams, Gerald Reese Grams, his sister Nancy Grams McBride and her husband Mick McBride
and his sister Talmadge Grams Payton, his grandchildren Will Scott Schultz and Karina Costillo, Carina
Maria Grams, Collin Atlee Grams and Jaimie Osvog Grams, his great-grandchildren Karma Schultz,
Willow Schultz, Leo Qiu, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his friend Cindy Adams
and her family.

A memorial service will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick on 9 December 2023. He will be
interred in the future at the veteran’s cemetery in Boulder City Nevada to spend eternity with his wife
