Margaret “Camille” Kime, 80 of Thurmont passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 17, 1943, in Frederick, MD. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Johanna Marie (nee Riordan) Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers Larney Davis and Phil Davis.
She leaves behind her beloved partner, Martin Jones, daughter Traci Kime of Thurmont, daughter Deani Furst and husband David of Frederick. She was known to many as “Gege” especially to her grandchildren Ashley Waldron and husband Justin, Erika Riffle-Barb and wife Melissa, Jordan Kime and wife Autumn, Taylor Kime, Dylan Riffle and wife Sarah, Savannah Hamrick, and her cherished great-grandchildren: Tyler, Isabella, Ryleigh, Hunter, Chloe, MyKena, Jody, Brody, Paislee, Everleigh, and Harper.
She is also survived by her siblings Teddy Davis and Cindy Culler.
She retired from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission with nearly 40 years of government service.
Camille had a special bond with her granddaughter Taylor Kime. She was passionate about advocating for children with disabilities. She was the founder and President of Karaoke Buddies, established in 2010. Karaoke Buddies was an outlet for Taylor and others with disabilities to enjoy a fun evening of singing and dancing. The Karaoke Buddies motto “When words are silent, music speaks,” embodies what music provides for Taylor and the special needs community.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home on 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Stauffer Funeral Home on 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD.
The family wants to express its sincerest gratitude to the doctors who provided such wonderful care for Camille, particularly Dr. Richard Burkhart at John Hopkins Hospital and Dr. Yun Oh at Frederick Health.
