Carmella Julia Stimson

Carmella Stimson, 97, of  Mount Airy, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2023. Born on January 23, 1926, in Oil City, PA she was the daughter of the late Salvatore Sinagra and Josephine (Johns) Sinagra who immigrated to the United States from Sinagra Valley, Sicily. Carmella was the loving wife of the late Robert Stimson, her husband for 52 years.  Carmella was a devoted wife, mother and sister.  As a homemaker, Carmella enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends, taking walks on the beach with her granddaughter, and attending ballroom, round dancing and country western line dancing with Robert. Carmella and Robert raised two wonderful children. She is preceded in death by her son Robert Stimson and six siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Liggett and husband Richard; granddaughter Christina Torcaso and husband Joseph; and great- grandchildren Alexander and Benjamin Torcaso.  The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the American Cancer Society.
