Carol Lee Humerick

Carol Lee (Fraley) Humerick, 85 of Thurmont, passed away on May 22, 2026, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Braddock Heights. Carol was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2018.

The daughter of the late Mary and Carl Fraley, Carol lived in Thurmont her entire life. Carol graduated from Thurmont High School in 1959 and married Jim shortly after. Carol worked for many years as a cashier at the Thurmont Super Thrift and then the Thurmont Jubilee, where she met many lifelong friends.

Carol volunteered with several community organizations including Cub Scout Pack 270, Thurmont Little League, Thurmont Colts midget football as a team mom, and as a host family for the Frederick Keys. Carol and Jim enjoyed traveling, often visiting Lancaster, PA., Williamsburg, VA., Myrtle Beach, and spent many summer vacations in Ocean City. The most gratifying enjoyment in Carol’s life was spending time with friends and family.

Carol is survived by her son Jim and his wife Lisa, grandson Brandon and his wife Danielle, and great-grandson Brooks, along with many cousins. Carol is also remembered by dear friends Nancy Andrew, Pat and Wayne Putman, Kim and Dave Benjamin, and Ginny Ridenour. Special thanks go to the wonderful staff at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Braddock Heights, and to the caring staff at Frederick Health Hospice.

Visitation will take place at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont on Wednesday May 27 from 4PM till 7PM. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Thursday May 28 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice, 1 Frederick Health Way Frederick MD 21701.
