Catherine Stauffer Feaga, 98, of Frederick, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Born on January 17, 1926, in Walkersville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Wesley Stauffer, Sr. and Oda Helen Zimmerman Stauffer. She was the wife of the late R. Monroe Feaga, who passed away on July 14, 2017. They were married for 69 years.
Catherine was a graduate of Walkersville High School, Class of 1944. She worked at the Ox Fibre Brush Company, State Farm Insurance Company, Floyd L. Culler, Inc., and retired from the Frederick County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker at North Frederick Elementary School. Catherine enjoyed membership with Monroe in the Fredericktown Bank retiree luncheons, the Thurmont Dance Club, the Over the Hill Gang, bus trips with Monroe to several states, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Surviving are her four children: Helen Esworthy (Artie Jr.), Ralph M. Feaga (Margie), Virginia Andrews (John Sr.), and Robert S. Feaga (Mary); her six grandchildren: Artie R. Esworthy III (Jane), Shannon Andrews Gregory (Mark), Conner H. Esworthy (Karl), Barry A. Feaga (Tara), John W. Andrews Jr. (Ariana), and Brian M. Feaga (Crystal); and her ten great-grandchildren: Leah C. Feaga, John W. Andrews III, Ainsley E. Esworthy, Madelyn S. Andrews, Wade R. Feaga, Artie R. Esworthy IV, Finley C. Gregory, Cole K. Andrews, Evelyn M. Esworthy, and Maira G. Gregory; her sister-in-law, Caroline R. Feaga; several nieces and nephews, and long-time friend, Gloria Gafney.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: C. Beattie Stauffer, Carl M. Stauffer (Annabelle), Ralph W. Stauffer, Jr. (Betty), William Z. Stauffer (Katharine), Robert M. Stauffer (Dorothy), and Margaret S. Naeny (Albert), and her brother-in-law, Garland P. Feaga (Mary Jane).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, from 10 to 11 AM at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Baglyos. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
