Catherine White

On May 13, 2026, Catherine “Terry” White, 97, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and faithful servant of Christ, passed peacefully surrounded by family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Terry carried its warmth, spirit, and resilience throughout her life. A graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, she began her career as an executive secretary, where her intelligence, grace, and gift for connecting with others quickly flourished.

In 1957, she married the love of her life, Jerry White, and together they built a devoted life in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, raising their daughters in a home filled with love, laughter, and community.

Once her children were in school, Terry built a career in healthcare administration, where she was known for her compassion, organization, and steady warmth. More than anything, she will be remembered for her vibrant, social spirit and the joy she brought to every gathering.

In 2001, Terry and Jerry made Frederick, Maryland their home, where Terrycontinued to form lasting friendships. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

Terry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry White; her parents, Willie and Katie Gillen; her sister and brother-in-law, Lily and Bill Reddy and other beloved family members.

Terry is survived by her daughters, Mary Hepsen (John) and Donna Hanley (Tom); her grandchildren Jack Hepsen, Amanda, Ryan, and Meghan Hanley; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

The celebration of Terry’s life will span several states, reflecting the many places she called home and the many lives she touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Frederick, Maryland.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Pfleger Funeral Home in Middletown, New Jersey.

Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Fair View Cemetery, followed by a reception at Fratelli’s Restaurant in South Red Bank, New Jersey.

Terry’s love, warmth, and gentle spirit will remain with us always, carried forward in the hearts of her family and all who had the joy of knowing her.
