Cecil William Dagenhart, born on November 1, 1935, in Myersville, passed away on July 2, 2026. He was a devoted family man whose life touched many through steadfast kindness and unwavering support.

Cecil’s early years began in Myersville, where he was raised in a close-knit family. His upbringing instilled in him values of hard work, integrity, and commitment that would define him for the rest of his life.

Cecil leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His legacy continues through his daughters, Wanda Crilly and her husband Mark, and Brenda Woods and her husband, Troy. He was a beloved grandfather to Tiffany Bond, Emily Shipley and husband Wesley, Cassandra Heyer, and Jordan Crilly and wife Shannon, and a proud great-grandfather to Everett & Wyatt Bond, Keagan & Kasen Shipley, Hannah & Raegan Crilly. His sister, Vernadine House, also survives him. Each of them will remember Cecil as a source of wisdom and affection, always ready to offer a steady hand or a listening ear.

Cecil was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dagenhart; two sisters, Betty Davis and JoAnn Lewis; and his wife, Patsy Dagenhart. Their memories and shared moments remain an integral part of Cecil’s story, woven through the lives of those who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8th, from 6-8 PM at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home at 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD. A service will be held on Thursday July 9th at 11 AM at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, with a graveside ceremony to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Mt. Lena United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
