Charles “Hutch” Hutchinson, 64, of Boonsboro, Maryland, was called home to be with the Lord March 16, 2026, entering eternal rest surrounded by God’s grace and promise. His life was a testimony of faith, love, and devotion to his family, friends, and to God. He retired in 2024 from the Frederick County Department of Water and Wastewater Management and later worked at Geo-Technology Associates in Frederick, Maryland.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Charles was the son of Kenneth and Edith Hutchinson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Charles Hutchinson Jr.
Charles’s family and loved ones find comfort in believing he is now with those who passed before him and at peace in his Savior’s presence. Those who knew him were blessed by his gentle spirit, steady wisdom, and unwavering belief in God’s plan.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cindy Hutchinson; his son Seth Hutchinson and his daughter Brandi Hutchinson and fiancé Larry Welch; three granddaughters; and one great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Kenneth Hutchinson and wife Phyllis of Williamsport; his sister Martha Howard and husband Jon of Nebraska; and his sister Susan Worrell and husband Phillip of Virginia.
Hutch was warmly embraced by Cindy’s family, who loved him as one of their own. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, always cheering them on and celebrating milestones. He took particular joy in officiating three of their weddings in recent years, cross stitching them personalized stockings and personalized blankets for the youngest.
Charles belonged to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro where he sang in the chancel choir, mentored many youths as a Sunday School Leader, and directed several Christmas programs.
He was a member of the 1980 class of Boonsboro High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1983.
