Charles Edward Morgan, 79, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Born on January 10, 1947, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Benjamin and Virginia Elizabeth (Bircher) Morgan.

Charles attended Walkersville High School.

At the age of 20, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country until 1970. Charles was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960-).

Following his military service, he was a heavy equipment mechanic, dedicating himself to his trade with pride and determination.

Charles was a member of Silver Grove United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry, WV.

A few of his favorite pastimes included spending time with friends and family, watching wrestling, going to the VFW post in Charles Town, and square dancing with the Mountaineer Twirlers where he and Sara made many cherished memories and friendships.

He is survived by his son, William "Billy" Morgan (Kelli), granddaughters Brittany Stevenson (Ethan) and Ashleigh Morgan (Ryan), great granddaughters Caroline Baker and Sophie Robertson (due May 2026), brother Dennis Morgan (Nancy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles is also survived by his beloved life partner, Sara Harman, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years and his very special bonus family, Michele Gallihugh (Bobby), Mel Harman (Jennifer) and Kyndal Harman.

He will also be greatly missed by his furry companion, Chocolate.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth Morgan, Harry Morgan Jr, Eugene Morgan, George Morgan and Dolly Keefer.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, Walkersville, 40 Fulton Avenue in Walkersville, Maryland.

A celebration of Charles's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Howard Martin will officiate. Interment will be at Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery following services at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Martinsburg VA Center at 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25045 in memory of Veteran Charles Edward Morgan.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Martinsburg VA Center for all the kindness, support and guidance provided over the past few months.
