Charles Millard Wachter

Charles Millard Wachter, 85 of Lewistown MD, has gone home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2026, he was surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 26, 1940, in Lewistown, MD, he was the son of the late Robert and Mildred Wachter.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 65 ½ years, Victoria. He was a devoted father to a Daugher, and son Richard Wachter (Cheryl).

Charles was a loving and devoted grandfather to Corie O’Bryan (Amber), Cassidy O’Bryan (Katie), Allen Pierson (Leah), Ashley Roberts (Luke) and Jenika Wachter, as well as his great-grandchildren, CJ and Callie O’Bryan, Brody O’Bryan, Nolan Pierson and Sophia and Jack Roberts.

In addition, he is survived by his Brother Carroll (Daphne) Wachter, and Sister Annamary Snider and a special niece and nephew Pam and Jerry Stansbury and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Robert Wachter Jr. (Margaret), Jean Grant (George), Ruth Lenhart (Harold Sr.) and Brother in Law, Terry Snider.

Charles was an active member of the Lewistown United Method Church. He was known for his sense of humor. In his younger days he enjoyed playing baseball, roller and ice skating, square dancing, camping and had a passion for gardening.

Charles was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1958. He was employed as a Produce Manager at Safeway and then worked various positions with the Frederick County Maryland Public Schools before retiring in 2012.

Charles will be remembered by many close and dear friends.

The family will receive visitors on January 22, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

On January 23, 2026 visitation will be 12 noon with the service beginning at 1 pm at the Lewistown United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Yocum and Paster Mark Claiborne officiating,

Interment will be immediately following the services at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD
