Charlotte L. Gosnell

Charlotte Louise Smith Gosnell, 100yrs old of Walkersville, MD passed away on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born September 11, 1925 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Blanche and Willis Smith.

Charlotte graduated from Liberty High School and Strayer Business College in Baltimore. She worked at USAMMA, Fort Derrick for over 30 years as a secretary.

Charlotte was a life long member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Council member, Youth leader and a member of the Willing Workers. She loved working and attending the church’s annual picnics and festivals.

Charlotte loved family and get togethers with friends, particularly making strawberry waffles, cooking and serving Christmas and Easter dinners to her family and friends. She and Roy enjoyed square dancing and they were always ready for a party or a parade. She was a member or NARFE No. 409, Frederick, MD.

Surviving her are her children Ross (Sandy), Andy (Allison), Debbie (Scott), 15 grandchildren, 23 great grand children and 1 great great grandson. Also son in law Bill and daughter in law Gail. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, daughter, Judy and son, Larry. As well as her life long friend, Pat.

The family would like to thank her friends at Victoria Park, and lifetime friends Rick and Ann Thompson, Bob and Donna Twenty and Barbara Denn, for being like her extended family.

Visitation will be 3-5 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, at Grace Rocky Hill Church, 10825 Coppermine Road, Woodsboro, MD at 11 am with visitation from 10-11am.
