Cheri Perry

Cheryl “Cheri” Perry, 80, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" Perry who passed in 2001.

Born on January 30, 1946, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of late Joseph W. Straw and Thelma M. (Grumbine) Straw of Mt. Airy.

Cheri has finally found peace following an aggressive struggle with Alzheimer's.

She fought the disease the only way she knew how, battling it to the end. Before the disease took the best of her mind and body, she was an avid reader, loved the beach, her family, "her" cat Crush and her friends. Her daughters will remember her as she lived her life throughout her best years as a loving, laughing, caring, mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.

Cheri is survived by her daughters; Melanie Woerner (Shannon "Woody") -Thurmont, Dawn Moroney - Frederick, Stacy Wheeler (Andy) - Spotsylvania VA and Trish Taylor (Randy) - Spotsylvania VA. She is survived by her sister, Lynn Tiffany, her grandchildren; Andrea Cavanee (Michael), Amanda Woerner, Andrew Wheeler (Kristin), as well as her great grandchildren: Eva, Layla, Michael and Elizabeth Cavanee, and her nephews; Brian and Michael Tiffany.

A graveside service and interment will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 27 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lisbon, MD.
