Christie Anne Adams

Christie Anne Adams, 72, of Myersville, died on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, Maryland, with her children by her side. She was a loving mother to Adam Fitzgerald Bellman and Suzannah "Suzi" Kristy Bellman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Christopher Seigliano "Chris", who died in December 2025; Gerald Howard Bellman "Jerry", the father of her children; her biological parents, Todd Maynard and Pat McKinster Maynard; her adoptive parents, Berk Adams and Jean Spincer; and her sisters, Leslie Rhea Adams, Loretta “Lori” Souders, and Katherine Whitaker.

In addition to her children, Christie is survived by her siblings, Larry "Roscoe" Shields, Lynn Souders, Julia Whitaker, and Roger “Bud” Whitaker, Diane Hern; her nieces and nephews, Joshua Souders, Marcus Biggs, Lillian Gunter, Chantay Biggs, and Sarina Pack; as well as her husband's daughter Gina Harris and husband Bill Harris as well as, their children Zoë, Ada, Talon and Lena Harris.

Christie also, had many loving members of her extended family whom she found and connected with through her genealogy research.

Born March 26, 1954, in Delaware, Ohio, near Yellow Springs, Ohio, Christie was a compassionate and intelligent woman who loved nature and found purpose in helping others. A natural caregiver with many talents, she worked as a veterinary technician, a stained glass artist, and a caregiver for adults with autism. She then became her husband's career for many years towards the end of his life. She brought patience, creativity, and dedication to each of these roles.

Christie studied art and opened her own stained glass studio. One of her proudest creations was a large stained glass angel panel that she cut by hand, while working at a local small business in Frederick Maryland. The panel is installed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, where Christie will be laid to rest. There, her art will remain part of her story.

Christie also found great happiness in the garden at her Myersville home. Over the years, she planted and cared for thousand of daylilies. She became quite the self taught expert gardiner as her flowers were, a labor of love. Her garden was her sanctuary and one of the places where she felt most at peace. Her daughter will carry this floral legacy forward within the family.

Genealogy became one of Christie’s greatest passions. She was a stronge advocate for adoptee rights and felt very deeply the need to find and bring together, these connections. Adopted as a young child, she understood the importance of family and belonging. She became a skilled researcher, uncovering her family history and reconnecting with relatives she had never known. She also used her skills to help others find relatives and build life long connections that might otherwise have remained lost. Her research reunited families, including her own, and made her part of many other people’s stories.

Though quiet and private, Christie formed deep and lasting relationships. She maintained friendships across the country and cared deeply for people, animals (many pets), and the natural world.
