Christine "Chris" Elisabeth Richards passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Chris was born on December 2, 1947, in Lintz, Austria. Raised in the Austrian Alps where she developed the strength, resilience, and independent spirit that defined her life. Strong-willed and fiercely independent, she lived life on her own terms and was never afraid to speak her mind.

Chris and her husband Edmund Richards (“Stoney”) were a pair rarely seen apart. Married on October 24, 1970, they shared a lifetime of love, companionship and devotion. Together they traveled often from sailing in the Virgin Islands, to tasting gelato in Amalfi, and lobster in Maine.

Chris had a quick wit and sharp sense of humor. A talented artist as well as an exceptional cook and baker that brought family and friends together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alan Robe and Ingaborg Haar. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stoney; children, Edmund Stone Richards, Jr. (Nancy) and Elisabeth Richards; grandson, Montgomery Stone Richards. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private family ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and honor her memory.
